This Team Fortress 2 map is designed for the Fortwars game mode which gets teams to build a defence and steal the intelligence with the aim of holding for longer than the enemy.
There has always been a lack of any 'interesting' maps for the Fortwars game mode. Maps are usually very basic with orange/blue/red/grey development textures.
I personally find these get boring after a while, so with Halloween coming up (at the time of making this map) I though why not make a Fortwars map that breaks the mould.
A lot of my inspiration for this map comes from the Mann Manor (cp_manor_event) map which was released as part of the Scream Fortress update of 2010. fw_mannor uses interesting textures and props to create a far more visually appealing level to play. Another difference in fw_mannor compared to other fw maps is the use of geometry. Namely, broken walls surrounding the intel area. While the aim of the game mode is still to create your own walls/defence, these add a slight twist to normal game play.
This map also takes on a feature of my previous fw map, blackout: the solid build wall. Its common for fw maps to use a glass block between the 2 teams during the 'build time'. However, I think its better if you don't get to see the enemies defence before you start. So, the walls separating the teams takes on a lovely wall paper texture, adding a slight element of surprise when the round starts.
As you might have guessed, the map is also named after the manor event map, combining 'Mann' (Mann Co is a fictional company in the game) and 'Manor' to create: 'Mannor' - Genius!
The map takes on traditional Fortwars style with 2 minutes 'build time' and 2 minutes 30 hold time.
